I am having a hard time bringing myself to do it because of the way I thought Galatians was abused during the Churchwide Assembly, but I am going to try. Our input does have an effect, even if it doesn't as much as we wish it did.

After having invested a lot of work personally and a lot of energy within my congregation in the previous rounds (1992-1993, and Journey Together Faithfully I) only to learn that most comments were unread and simply thrown on a pile, let the tallest stack "win"....Nada, zip.
What will be will be and what will be is revisionism.
I hear you. I feel guilty not doing it because I have such great respect for the folks I have met in the reform movements. A member of the last task force said that the recommendations for 2005 would have been much worse without the input from the masses. I am leaving the ELCA within the next six months most likely, but I hate not helping those who are hanging in there.
I am in agreement, though. I think the end is determined already. The atmosphere at CWA 2007 was that this is going to happen, let's just do it properly.
