Worldview is the basic issue.

This is an interesting article about the basic differences between liberals and conservatives in the church. The writer makes a very good point about why it is important for conservatives to really understand the liberal view of the church.

It is an interesting article, and I appreciate his attempt to see the liberal view, but I think he missed the mark slightly.

It's not about new certainties supplanting old certainties. It's about being willing to live with uncertainty. Obviously there are some ultra-liberals like Spong and J.D. Crossan who prefer to reach past uncertainty, but I think that's the exception in the non-conservative world.
