As a died-in-the-wool heretic, I take absolutely no offence at this whatsoever. A heretic of the 16th century said something to the effect that those who persecute people or wage war in the name of Christ, violate the law of love.
We have a slogan: "Christ is an eternal form. He kept returning again and again. The Church kept burning him at the stake."
If Christ was a heretic, that's good enought for me.
